Catch-up Pictures

The Great Hall on campus--these snow pics are from back in Dec, right before I left, and I never got around to posting them...

Costco in Leeds! Note the spelling of tire...

Our Christmas tree (don't worry, it's not still up--I just hadn't posted the picture yet!)

Snow scenes around Hyde Park

A gorgeous old church (1864) on the walk to campus. It was designed by the same man who did Leeds Town Hall, the Corn Exchange, Leeds City Museum, etc. There's a Wetherspoons bar/restaurant named after him on Millennium Square, The Cuthbert Brodick.

More Snow!

On Sunday morning we had a couple of inches of snow, so we went down to Kirkstall Abbey. It's mostly melted off now, but the forecast says we're supposed to have more snow every day this week...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Richard and me at Filey

The beachfront hotels and B&B's at (very) low tide

Victorian-era water trough for donkeys (these resort towns have donkey rides on the beach). It says "Dedicated to God, for use of his dumb creatures"

Millennium Square

I just love how it says "bar food" and "kids eat free"! Do the kids have a minimum drink purchase?

"The Cube"--Ice skating rink in Millennium Square. Richard & I went ice skating last weekend. It was fun, and we didn't fall down!

A new Leeds Metropolitan University building--even though it's modern and not my usual taste, I think it looks alright. Better than the "concrete jungle" over at University of Leeds, at least!
